EOPA Marketing Initiative Of The Year

The Pilot Pen Company (UK) Ltd has won the EOPA 2016 Marketing Initiative award. The winners of the 15th European Office Products Awards (EOPA) were announced during a presentation dinner in Amsterdam on the 9th March.

The award was presented in recognition of Pilot Pens marketing activity with the NME music and lifestyle magazine during 2015 with saw Pilot’s FriXion erasable pen sponsoring the “Best Solo Artist Award at the 2015 NME Awards with Austin Texas”.

The Marketing Initiative award category was open to any organisation that could clearly show the success of a specific marketing campaign. Judges considered:

• Objectives of the campaign

• Understanding the target audience

• Originality and creativity of the campaign

• Marketing activity and innovative methods used

• The Return on Investment generated by the initiative

The Judges of the EOPA Award commented “Pilot's campaign was the undisputed winner of this award, ticking all the criteria boxes. Partnering with the UK's most well-known music publication NME to raise awareness among a key demographic target – 18 to 25 year old students and professionals – appears to be an inspired initiative”.

Stuart Barker, Marketing Manager for Pilot Pen UK collected the award and comments “We are absolutely thrilled to be recognised for our innovative approach to marketing by leaders of the European office products industry and this reflects extremely well for both Pilot Pen UK and also the Pilot brand across Europe”. Barker then continues “2015 was an excellent year in terms of building brand awareness of Pilot’s core products to end-users and our collaboration with NME was an important tactic that we used to deliver growth. Our FriXion family of erasable pens saw double-digit volume growth during 2015 and activities such as the NME campaign contributed to this success”
